This tiny fish stand in Fatih run by a lovely Turkish man is truly one in a million. Words cannot express how awesome this baguette is. Incredibly soft on the inside and grilled to toasty perfection on the outside, all while holding the sandwich together with ease. I’ve grown up in a place with some of the best seafood in the US as well as ate it all around the world, but this mackerel trumps all of it. The man debones it right in front of you, then proceeds to fill the entire street with the scent of grilled fish. He finishes it with a touch of lemon, herbs, Turkish fish seasoning and sea salt to create what has to be the best seafood of my life. The lettuce and onions soak up all that seasoning to add a beautiful freshness. I don’t care what you have to do to get this man’s fish sandwich, or how far away you are from Turkey. Come and you will be amazed.
